✧ Urinating in the mosque

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ،
أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا بَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ الْقَوْمُ فَانْتَهَرُوهُ، وَأَغْلَظُوا لَهُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: دَعُوهُ، وَأَهْرِيقُوا عَلَى بَوْلِهِ سَجْلًا مِنْ مَاءٍ - أَوْ دَلْوًا مِنْ مَاءٍ -، فَإِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُمْ مُيَسِّرِينَ، وَلَمْ تُبْعَثُوا مُعَسِّرِينَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ، وَالْأَعْرَابِيُّ خَلْفَهُ فَبَيْنَا هُمْ يُصَلُّونَ إِذْ قَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ: اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي، وَمُحَمَّدًا، وَلَا تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا أَحَدًا، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ: لَقَدْ تَحَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا
Translation
✧ A bedouin urinated in the mosque, so the people stood up to him and rebuked him severely. The Prophet ﷺ said: Leave him, and pour over his urine a bucket of water—or a pail of water—for you have been sent as facilitators, not as hardship-makers. Then the Prophet ﷺ stood up, with the bedouin behind him. While they were praying, the bedouin said: O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammad, and do not have mercy on anyone else with us. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished, he said to him: You have constricted something vast.
