✧ Does He Perform Ablution for Every Prayer or Not?

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ أَبِي غَلَّابٍ، عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ فِي جَيْشٍ عَلَى سَاحِلِ دِجْلَةَ، إِذْ حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى مُنَادِيهِ لِلظُّهْرِ، فَقَامَ النَّاسُ إِلَى الْوُضُوءِ، فَتَوَضَّئُوا فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ، ثُمَّ جَلَسُوا حِلَقًا، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَتِ الْعَصْرُ نَادَى مُنَادِي الْعَصْرِ، فَهَبَّ النَّاسُ لِلْوُضُوءِ أَيْضًا، فَأَمَرَ مُنَادِيَهُ فَنَادَى: أَلَا لَا وُضُوءَ إِلَّا عَلَى مَنْ أَحْدَثَ، قَدْ أَوْشَكَ الْعِلْمُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ، وَيَظْهَرَ الْجَهْلُ حَتَّى يَضْرِبَ الرَّجُلُ أُمَّهُ بِالسَّيْفِ مِنَ الْجَهْلِ
Translation
✧ We were with Abu Musa al-Ashari in an army on the bank of the Tigris when the prayer time arrived. His caller announced the Zuhr prayer, so the people got up to perform ablution, performed it, and he led them in prayer. Then they sat in circles. When the Asr time arrived, the Asr caller announced it, and the people arose once more to perform ablution. He ordered his caller, who announced: "Indeed, no ablution is required except for one who has invalidated his state of purity. Knowledge is about to disappear and ignorance will prevail, to the point that a man will strike his mother with a sword out of ignorance."
