عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ طَاوُسٌ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنِ الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَقَالَ: أَكُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ يَجِدُ ثَوْبَيْنِ ؟ فَكَانَ يَقُولُ: يُصَلِّي الرَّجُلُ فِي الْجُبَّةِ وَحْدَهَا، وَالْقَمِيصِ وَحْدَهُ إِذَا كَانَ كَثِيفًا، وَإِذَا صَغُرَ الْإِزَارُ فَلَمْ يَبْلُغْ أَنْ يَتَّشِحَهُ فَلْيَتَّزِرْهُ
Translation
✧ When Ṭāwūs was asked about a single garment in prayer, he said: Can every person find two garments? He would say: A man may pray in a jubbah alone or a qamīṣ alone if it is thick. If the waist-wrapper is small and cannot be wrapped around, let him use it as a waist-wrapper.
