Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: Should I wrap myself in the garment? He said: No, the tawashshuḥ (wrapping over one shoulder and under the other) is more concealing—a man folds his waist-wrapper over his private parts twice. And he disliked ever praying in it when it was small. I said: What do you think if there were two men wearing waist-wrappers and they had one cloak, and they stood to pray—would you prefer that they both share that cloak while wearing their waist-wrappers, or that they wrap themselves in their waist-wrappers and leave the cloak? He said: Rather, they should pray in their waist-wrappers, and the cloak together is more beloved to me.
