✧ How Much of the Ablution Is a Single Pour

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ أُصَدِّقُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
دَعَا عَلِيٌّ بِوَضُوءٍ فَقُرِّبَ لَهُ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهُمَا فِي وَضُوئِهِ، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ ثَلَاثًا، وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْمِرْفَقِ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى كَذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ مَسْحَةً وَاحِدَةً، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رِجْلَهُ الْيُمْنَى إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ الْيُسْرَى كَذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ قَامَ قَائِمًا فَقَالَ لِي: نَاوِلْنِي، فَنَاوَلْتُهُ الْإِنَاءَ الَّذِي فِيهِ فَضْلُ وَضُوئِهِ فَشَرِبَ مِنْ فَضْلِ وَضُوئِهِ قَائِمًا فَعَجِبْتُ فَلَمَّا رَآنِي عَجِبْتُ قَالَ: لَا تَعْجَبْ، فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَبَاكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ مِثْلَ مَا رَأَيْتَنِي أَصْنَعُ يَقُولُ: بِوَضُوئِهِ هَذَا وَبِشَرَابِهِ فَضْلَ وَضُوئِهِ قَائِمًا
Translation
✧ 'Ali called for water for ablution, and it was brought near to him. He washed his palms three times before putting them into his ablution water, then rinsed his mouth three times, sniffed water three times, then washed his face three times, then washed his right hand up to the elbow three times, then the left likewise, then wiped his head with one wipe, then washed his right foot up to the ankles three times, then the left likewise. Then he stood upright and said to me: 'Hand it to me.' So I handed him the vessel containing the leftover water of his ablution, and he drank from the leftover water of his ablution standing. I was astonished, and when he saw my astonishment, he said: 'Do not be astonished, for I saw your father, the Prophet ﷺ, do the same as you have seen me do,' meaning with this ablution of his and his drinking of the leftover water of his ablution standing.
