✧ The virgin and the woman in nifas

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ:
أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَقْرَبُ نِسَاءَهُ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَتْ إِحْدَاهُنَّ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً
Translation
✧ He used not to go near his wives when one of them had given birth for forty nights.
