✧ The virgin and the woman in nifas

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ الْحَسَنَ يَقُولُ: يُحَدَّثُ
أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ كَانَ يَقُولُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ مِنْ نِسَائِهِ إِذَا نُفِسَتْ: لَا تَقْرَبِينِي أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً
Translation
✧ Uthman b. Abi al-As used to say to a woman among his wives when she had given birth: Do not come near me for forty nights.
