Translation

✧ ʿAṭāʾ was asked about a woman whose menstruation left her for a long time, then the bleeding returned. He said: “She should wait; if it is menstruation, then it is menstruation, and if it is istihāḍah, then she has a similar case, but she should not abandon prayer. When she sees blood, she should perform ghusl for every prayer and then pray. Then, when she knows, she should abandon prayer. I fear it may be istihāḍah.”
