قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَأَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ
كَانَ إِذَا خُطِبَ إِلَيْهِ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِهِ يَجِيءُ الْخِدْرَ، فَيَقُولُ: " إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَخْطُبُ فُلَانَةَ؛ فَإِنْ حَرَّكَتِ الْخِدْرَ لَمْ يُزَوِّجْهَا، وَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ زَوَّجَهَا
Translation
✧ When one of his daughters was sought in marriage, he would come to the curtain and say, "So-and-so proposes to So-and-so." If she moved the curtain, he would not marry her off; and if she remained silent, he would marry her off.
