أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ:
جَاءَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي مَرَرْتُ بِأَخٍ لِي مِنْ قُرَيْظَةَ، وَكَتَبَ لِي جَوَامِعَ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ، أَفَلَا أَعْرِضُهَا عَلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ: فَتَغَيَّرَ وَجْهُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ! قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: فَقُلْتُ: مَسَخَ اللهُ عَقْلَكَ، أَلَا تَرَى مَا بِوَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ نَبِيًّا ! قَالَ: فَسُرِّيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَوْ أَصْبَحَ فِيكُمْ مُوسَى ثُمَّ اتَّبَعْتُمُوهُ وَتَرَكْتُمُونِي لَضَلَلْتُمْ، أَنْتُمْ حَظِّي مِنَ الْأُمَمِ، وَأَنَا حَظُّكُمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of God, I passed by a brother of mine from Qurayza and he wrote for me a collection from the Torah. Shall I present it to you?" He said: The face of the Messenger of God ﷺ changed. Abdullah said: I said, "May God disfigure your mind! Do you not see what is on the face of the Messenger of God ﷺ?" Umar said, "I am content with God as Lord, Islam as religion, and Muhammad ﷺ as Prophet." He said: So the Prophet ﷺ was relieved, then said, "By the One in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, if Moses were to appear among you and you followed him and left me, you would go astray. You are my share among the nations, and I am your share among the prophets."
