أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ،
أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ سَأَلَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، وَكَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَامِلًا بِعَدَنَ، فَقَالَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: مَا فِي أَمْوَالِ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ ؟ قَالَ: " الْعَفْوُ ". قَالَ: قُلْتُ: إِنَّهُمْ يَأْمُرُونَنَا بِكَذَا وَكَذَا، قَالَ: " فَلَا تَعْمَلْ لَهُمْ ". قَالَ: فَمَا فِي الْعَنْبَرِ ؟ قَالَ: " إِنْ كَانَ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ فَالْخُمُسُ
Translation
✧ Ibn Abbas was asked by Ibrahim b. Sa'd, who was a governor in Aden, and he said to Ibn Abbas: What is due from the wealth of the dhimmis? He said: Pardon. He said: I said: They order us with such and such. He said: Then do not work for them. He said: What about ambergris? He said: If there is anything in it, then a fifth.
