✧ Marriage to women of the People of the Book

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ قَالَ:
كَتَبَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ " أَنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ يَنْكِحُ النَّصْرَانِيَّةَ، وَالنَّصْرَانِيَّ لَا يَنْكِحُ الْمُسْلِمَةَ
Translation
✧ Umar b. al-Khattab wrote: "A Muslim may marry a Christian woman, but a Christian may not marry a Muslim woman."
