أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ طَلْقٍ أَخْبَرَهُ
أَنَّ أُمَّ وَلَدٍ نَصْرَانِيٍّ مِنْ أَهْلِ فِلَسْطِينَ أَسْلَمَتْ، فَكَتَبَ فِيهَا إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ أَنِ ابْعَثْ رِجَالًا فَلْيُقَوِّمُوهَا قِيمَةً، فَإِذَا انْتَهَتْ قِيمَتُهَا فَادْفَعُوهَا إِلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَالِ، فَإِنَّهَا امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Translation
✧ An umm walad of a Christian from the people of Palestine became Muslim, and he wrote about her to Umar b. Abd al-Aziz, and Umar wrote to him: Send men to assess her value, and when her value is determined, pay it to him from the public treasury, for she is a woman of the Muslims.
