The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever prays six rakahs after Maghrib and does not speak any evil between them, they will be counted for him as equivalent to twelve years of worship."

Notes

  • Abu Isa said: It has also been narrated from Aishah, from the Prophet ﷺ, that he said: "Whoever prays twenty rakahs after Maghrib, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise." Abu Isa said: The hadith of Abu Hurayrah is a strange hadith. We know it only through the narration of Zayd ibn al-Hubab from Umar ibn Abi Khatham. He said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ismail say, "Umar ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Khatham narrates rejected hadith," and he declared him very weak.

MubarakpūriAbū Hurayrah’s report is gharīb. Mundhirī said in *al-Targhīb*: “It was narrated by Ibn Mājah, Ibn Khuzaymah in his *Ṣaḥīḥ*, and Tirmidhī, all through ʿUmar b. Abū Khathʿam, from Yaḥyā b. Abū Kathīr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah. He was deemed very weak, meaning severely weak.” Dhahabī said in *al-Mīzān*: “He has objectionable reports concerning praying six rakʿahs after sunset and reciting Sūrat al-Dukhān at night. Zayd b. al-Ḥubāb, ʿUmar b. Yūnus al-Yamāmī, and others narrated from him. Abū Zurʿah declared him feeble, and Bukhārī said: ‘His hadith is objectionable; he is unreliable.’”in جامع الترمذي, p. 443hadithunlocked
