Notes

machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: This is a good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ) hadith. It has been narrated through more than one route from Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet ﷺ. The meaning of his saying "tirah" is regret and remorse. Some of the people of knowledge of the Arabic language said: al-tirah is vengeance (al-thaʾr).
