حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سَيْفُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

فِي قَوْلِهِ ( وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ فِي الأُكُلِ ) قَالَ الدَّقَلُ وَالْفَارِسِيُّ وَالْحُلْوُ وَالْحَامِضُ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Sayf b. Muḥammad al-Thawrī
  3. al-Aʿmash
  4. Abū Ṣāliḥ
  5. Abū Hurayrah
  6. al-Nabī ﷺ

that the Prophet ﷺ commented on: "Some of them We make more excellent than others to eat (13:4)." He said: "The Daqal, the Persian (referring to different kind of dates), the sweet, the bitter."
