machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: On this topic there are also narrations from Ibn Masʿūd, Jābir, and Anas b. Mālik. Abū ʿĪsā said: The hadith of Samurah is a good and gharīb (ḥasan gharīb) hadith, and the practice according to it is with the people of knowledge. They said: When they are three, two men stand behind the imām. It is narrated from Ibn Masʿūd that he prayed with ʿAlqamah and al-Aswad, and he stood one of them on his right and the other on his left, and he narrated it from the Prophet ﷺ. Some people have spoken about Ismāʿīl b. Muslim al-Makkī on account of his memory.
