Notes

machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: Thus Muḥammad b. Fuḍayl narrated this hadith from al-Aʿmash, from ʿAlī b. Mudrik, from Hilāl b. Yisāf. More than one of the memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated this hadith from al-Aʿmash, from Hilāl b. Yisāf, and they did not mention ʿAlī b. Mudrik in it. He said: al-Ḥusayn b. Ḥurayth narrated to us, Wakīʿ narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, Hilāl b. Yisāf narrated to us, from ʿImrān b. Ḥuṣayn, from the Prophet ﷺ, and he mentioned something similar. And this is more sound (aṣaḥḥ) in my view than the hadith of Muḥammad b. Fuḍayl. It has also been narrated through more than one route from ʿImrān b. Ḥuṣayn, from the Prophet ﷺ.
