Notes

machine translationAbū ʿĪsā said: This is a good and sound (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ), gharīb ḥadīth from the narration of Abū Isḥāq from Ṭalḥah b. Muṣarrif. We do not know it except through this route. Manṣūr b. al-Muʿtamir and Shuʿbah narrated this ḥadīth from Ṭalḥah b. Muṣarrif. On this topic there is also a narration from al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr. The meaning of his saying "whoever gives a loan of silver (manaḥa manīḥata wariq)" is only the lending of dirhams. His saying "or guides a path (hadā zuqāqan)" means guiding someone along the road.
