Thulathiyyat (Musnad Ahmad) 55
Musnad of Abū Ḥamzah Anas ibn Mālik al-Anṣārī, the Servant of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ
Translation
Hushaym narrated to us: ʻUbaydullāh ibn Abī Bakr informed us from Anas, and Yūnus from al-Ḥasan, both saying that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said, “Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or one who is oppressed.” It was said, “Messenger of Allah, I help him when he is oppressed, but how do I help him when he is an oppressor?” He said, “You restrain him and hold him back [from wrongdoing], for that is helping him.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 55
