al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 19357

✧ Umm Kulthum bt. Rasul Allah ﷺ passed away during his lifetime.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

وَقَفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى قَبْرِ ابْنَتِهِ الثَّانِيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عِنْدَ عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ «أَلَا أَبَا أَيِّمٍ أَلَا أَخَا أَيِّمٍ تَزَوَّجَهَا عُثْمَانُ فَلَوْ كُنَّ عَشْرًا لَزَوَّجْتُهُنَّ عُثْمَانَ وَمَا زَوَّجْتُهُ إِلَّا بِوَحْيٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ» وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ لَقِيَ عُثْمَانَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ «يَا عُثْمَانُ هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ يُخْبِرُنِي أَنَّ اللهَ ﷻ قَدْ زَوَّجَكَ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ عَلَى مِثْلِ صَدَاقِ رُقْيَةَ وَعَلَى مِثْلِ صُحْبَتِهَا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood by the grave of his second daughter who had been with Uthman and said, 'Is there any father of a widow? Is there any brother of a widow? Uthman married her. If they had been ten, I would have married them all to Uthman. I did not marry him except by revelation from heaven.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ met Uthman at the door of the mosque and said, 'O Uthman, this is Jibril informing me that Allah ﷻ has married Umm Kulthum to you with a dowry like Ruqayyah's and with companionship like hers.'
