✧ When Matar b. Najiyah took control of Kufah, he ordered Abu 'Ubaydah b. 'Abd Allah to lead the people in prayer, and he led the people. When he raised his head from bowing, he lengthened the standing. I narrated that to Ibn Abi Layla, and he narrated from al-Bara' b. 'Azib, who said: The prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he prayed and bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, and when he prostrated, and when he raised his head from prostration, between the two prostrations, was nearly equal in length.
