✧ When the Messenger of God ﷺ came to Madinah, he prayed toward Jerusalem for sixteen months. Then this verse was revealed to him: So turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque. It was revealed while some people were praying toward Jerusalem. When they heard it while in prayer, they turned their faces toward the Ka'bah while still in prayer.
