✧ The Prophet ﷺ visited 'Abd Allāh b. Rawāḥah, and he did not make room for him on his bed. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "What do you count as the martyrs of my community?" He said: "Those killed in the path of God." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Then the martyrs of my community would be few. Being killed is martyrdom, the plague is martyrdom, stomach disease is martyrdom, and a woman killed by her child in childbirth is martyrdom."

machine translationMy father said: Shuʿbah narrated it from Abū Bakr b. Ḥafṣ, from Ibn al-Faṣīḥ or Abū al-Muṣbiḥ, from Ibn al-Simṭ, from ʿUbādah, from the Prophet ﷺ. My father said: This is more likely correct; there is no sense in (mentioning) Abū Ṣāliḥ. ʿAmr did not retain it accurately, whereas Shuʿbah did. This is a hadith from the hadiths of the people of Syria, and he is Abū al-Muṣbiḥ al-Maqrāʾī, from Shuraḥbīl b. al-Simṭ, from ʿUbādah.
