حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَسْوَدَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ،
" أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَرَأَ النَّجْمَ بِمَكَّةَ وَسَجَدَ فِيهَا وَسَجَدَ مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ غَيْرَ شَيْخٍ، أَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى أَوْ تُرَابٍ، فَرَفَعَهُ إِلَى جَبْهَتِهِ، وَقَالَ: يَكْفِينِي هَذَا، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ قُتِلَ كَافِرًا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ.

✧ The Prophet ﷺ recited Surat al-Najm in Makkah and prostrated in it, and those with him prostrated except an old man who took a handful of pebbles or dust and raised it to his forehead, saying: “This suffices me.” Abdullah said: “I saw him killed as a disbeliever on the day of Badr.”
