حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ مِخْرَاقٍ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، قَالَ:
تَوَضَّأْتُ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ يَحْفَظُهَا وَيَعْقِلُهَا حَتَّى يَقْضِيَهَا كَانَ كَيَوْمِ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ
Translation

✧ I performed ablution and entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering a sermon. I heard him say: 'Whoever performs ablution and does it well, then prays the prescribed prayer, guarding it and understanding it until he completes it, will be like the day his mother gave birth to him.'
