حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِالْبُرَاقِ فَرَكِبَهُ هُوَ وَجِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِمَا فَسَارَ بِهِمَا فَكَانَ إِذَا أَتَى عَلَى جَبَلٍ ارْتَفَعَتْ رِجْلَاهُ وَإِذَا هَبَطَ ارْتَفَعَتْ يَدَاهُ حَتَّى صَارَ إِلَى أَرْضٍ غُمَّةٍ مُنْتِنَةٍ ثُمَّ إِلَى أَرْضٍ فَيْحَاءَ طَيِّبَةٍ قُلْتُ يَا جِبْرِيلُ كُنَّا نَسِيرُ فِي أَرْضٍ غُمَّةٍ مُنْتِنَةٍ ثُمَّ إِلَى أَرْضٍ فَيْحَاءَ طَيِّبَةٍ فَقَالَ تِلْكَ أَرْضُ النَّارِ وَهَذِهِ أَرْضُ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَى رَجُلٍ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ قُلْتُ أَخُوكَ مُحَمَّدٌ فَرَحَّبَ وَدَعَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ قَالَ سَلْ لِأُمَّتِكَ الْيَسَرَ قَالَ مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ قَالَ أَخُوكَ مُوسَى قُلْتُ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ صَوْتُهُ وَتَذَمُّرُهُ عَلَى رَبِّهِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّهُ يُعْرَفُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ وَحِدَّتُهُ قَالَ ثُمَّ سِرْنَا فَرَأَيْتُ مَصَابِيحَ وَضَوْءًا فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ؟ قَالَ هَذِهِ شَجَرَةُ أَبِيكَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قُلْتُ أَدْنُو مِنْهَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَدَنَوْنَا مِنْهَا فَدَعَا لِي بِالْبَرَكَةِ وَرَحَّبَ بِي ثُمَّ مَضَيْنَا إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَرَبَطْتُ الدَّابَّةَ بِالْحَلْقَةِ الَّتِي يَرْبِطُ بِهَا الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ثُمَّ دَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَنُشِرَتْ لِيَ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ مَنْ سَمَّى اللهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُسَمِّ فَصَلَّيْتُ بِهِمْ إِلَّا أُولِي الْبَقَرِ عِيسَى وَمُوسَى وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِمْ وَسَلَّمَ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought the Burāq and he mounted it with Jibril, may Allah bless them both. They traveled, and whenever he came to a mountain, his legs would rise, and when he descended, his hands would rise, until they reached a land that was dark and stinking, then a land that was spacious and fragrant. I said: “O Jibril, we were traveling in a dark, stinking land, then to a spacious, fragrant land.” He said: “That is the land of the Fire, and this is the land of Paradise.” Then I came upon a man standing in prayer. He said: “Who is this with you, O Jibril?” I said: “Your brother Muhammad.” He welcomed him and prayed for blessing. He said: “Ask for ease for your ummah.” I said: “Who is this, O Jibril?” He said: “Your brother Musa.” I said: “Was his voice and his complaining to his Lord like that?” He said: “Yes, that was known of him and his intensity.” Then we traveled on, and I saw lamps and light. I said: “Who is this, O Jibril?” He said: “This is the tree of your father Ibrahim.” I said: “Shall I approach it?” He said: “Yes.” So we approached it, and he prayed for blessing for me and welcomed me. Then we went on to Bayt al-Maqdis, and I tied the animal to the ring to which the prophets tie their animals. Then I entered the mosque, and the prophets were gathered for me—those whom Allah named in His Book and those He did not name. I prayed with them, except for the possessors of the cow: Isa, Musa, and Ibrahim, may Allah bless them and grant them peace.
