حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمُلَائِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ الْأَوْدِيِّ عَنْ هُزَيْلِ بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ قَالَ أَتَى رَجُلٌ أَبَا مُوسَى وَسَلْمَانَ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ فَسَأَلَهُمَا عَنْ بِنْتٍ وَبِنْتِ ابْنٍ وَأُخْتٍ لِأَبٍ وَأُمٍّ فَقَالَ لِلِابْنَةِ النِّصْفُ وَلِلْأُخْتِ النِّصْفُ وَقَالَا إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ سَيُتَابِعُنَا فَأَتَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ قَوْلَهُمَا فَقَالَ
لَقَدْ ضَلَلْتُ إِذًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ وَلَكِنْ سَأَقْضِي فِيهَا بِمَا قَضَى فِيهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لِلِابْنَةِ النِّصْفُ وَلِابْنَةِ الِابْنِ السُّدُسُ تَكْمِلَةَ الثُّلُثَيْنِ وَمَا بَقِيَ فَلِلْأُخْتِ»

✧ I would then have gone astray and I am not of the rightly guided. But I will judge in it as the Prophet ﷺ judged in it: 'To the daughter half, to the son's daughter one-sixth to complete two-thirds, and whatever remains goes to the sister.'
