حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْمُسْتَمْلِي ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ثنا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ زِرٍّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنَ وَالصَّلَاةُ لِوَقْتِهَا» أَسْنَدَهُ زَائِدَةُ وَأَوْقَفَهُ شُعْبَةُ وَحَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, ‘Which deed is best?’ He said: ‘Kindness to parents and prayer at its time.’ Za’idah traced it back to the Prophet, while Shu‘bah and Hammad b. Salamah stopped it at the companion.
