✧ We spoke at length one night in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then we went to him in the morning. He said: The prophets were presented to me with their nations. A prophet ﷺ would pass by with a small group, a prophet with a band, a prophet with a few, and a prophet with no one. Until Moses ﷺ passed by me with a large throng from the Children of Israel, and they impressed me. I said: Who are these? It was said: This is your brother Moses, and with him are the Children of Israel. I said: Where is my nation? It was said: Look to your right. I looked and the hills were filled with the faces of men. Then it was said to me: Look to your left. I looked and the horizon was filled with the faces of men. It was said to me: Are you pleased? I said: I am pleased, O Lord, I am pleased, O Lord. It was said to me: Indeed with these are seventy thousand who will enter Paradise without reckoning. The Prophet ﷺ said: "May my father and mother be your ransom. If you can be among the seventy thousand, then do so. If you fall short, then be among the people of the hills. If you fall short, then be among the people of the horizon. For I have seen people crowding together." Then ʿUkkasha b. Mihsan al-Asadi stood and said: Supplicate for me, O Messenger of Allah, that He make me among the seventy. So he supplicated for him. Then another man stood and said: Supplicate to Allah, O Messenger of Allah, that He make me among them. He said: "ʿUkkasha has preceded you to it." He said: Then we discussed among ourselves who these seventy thousand were: People born in Islam until they died upon it. That reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "They are those who do not cauterize, do not seek ruqyah, do not practice tiyarah, and upon their Lord they rely."
