حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ قَالَا ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ قَالَا ثنا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ وَمَسْرُوقٍ وَعُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
«عِدَّةُ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ مِنْ حِينِ تُطَلَّقُ وَالْمُتَوَفَّى عَنْهَا مِنْ حِينِ يُتَوَفَّى وَمَنْ شَاءَ قَاسَمْتُهُ أَنَّ سُورَةَ الْقُصْرَى أُنْزِلَتْ بَعْدَ الْبَقَرَةِ»

✧ The waiting period of a divorced woman is from the time she is divorced, and of a woman whose husband has died from the time he dies. And whoever wishes, I will swear with him that the shorter sūrah was revealed after al-Baqarah.
