حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ «بِتُّ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ لَيْلَةً §فَقَامَ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ قَامَ يُصَلِّي فَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ قِرَاءَةَ الْإِمَامِ فِي مَسْجِدِ حَيِّهِ يُرَتِّلُ وَلَا يُرَجِّعُ
يُسْمِعُ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ وَلَا يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْغَلَسِ إِلَّا كَمَا بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ لِلْمَغْرِبِ إِلَى انْصِرَافٍ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ»

✧ He would make those around him hear, but he did not raise his voice, until there remained of the pre-dawn darkness only about the interval between the call to prayer for Maghrib and finishing it; then he performed Witr.
