حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ
أَمَّنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فِي صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ فَافْتَتَحَ الْأَنْفَالَ فَقَرَأَ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ {نِعْمَ الْمَوْلَى وَنِعْمَ النَّصِيرُ} رَكَعَ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَرَأَ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ بِسُورَةٍ

✧ ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd led us in the later ʿIshāʾ prayer. He began al-Anfāl and recited until when he reached {How excellent a protector and how excellent a helper}, he bowed. Then he stood and in the second rakʿah recited a sūrah.
