✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he offered a sacrifice, would bring two fat, horned, black-and-white rams that were valuable. When he had addressed the people, greeted, and finished, he would bring one of them while standing in his place of prayer and slaughter it himself. Then he would say: 'O Allah, this is on behalf of my community, those who bore witness to Your oneness and to my conveyance of the message.' Then the other would be brought, and he would slaughter it himself. Then he would say: 'O Allah, this is on behalf of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.' He and his family would eat from both, and he would feed both of them to the poor. We remained for years with no man of Banu Hashim offering a sacrifice, for Allah, Exalted is He, had sufficed them the burden through the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
