حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ بَيْتَ الْمَالِ فَدَعَا بِنُفَايَةٍ كَانَتْ فِيهِ فَأَوْقَدَ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى إِذَا هِي ذَابَتْ قَالَ «أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ الْمُهْلِ؟ هَذَا الْمُهْلُ»

✧ He entered the public treasury and called for the scraps that were in it. He lit a fire under them until they melted, then said: “Where is the one asking about al-muhl (molten metal)? This is al-muhl.”
