حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءَ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ عَوْنٍ قَالَ قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللهِ لِأَصْحَابِهِ حِينَ قَدِمُوا عَلَيْهِ «هَلْ تَجَالَسُونَ؟» قَالُوا لَيْسَ نَتْرُكُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ «فَهَلْ تَزَاوَرُونَ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ مِنَّا لَيَفْقِدُ أَخَاهُ فَيَمْشِي فِي طَلَبِهِ إِلَى آخِرِ الْكُوفَةِ حَتَّى يَلْقَاهُ قَالَ «فَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَزَالُوا بِخَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ ذَلِكَ»

✧ ʿAbd Allah said to his companions when they came to him: “Do you sit together?” They said: “We do not abandon that.” He said: “Do you visit one another?” They said: “Yes, O Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman. Indeed, a man among us misses his brother, so he walks seeking him to the farthest end of Kufa until he meets him.” He said: “You will remain in good as long as you do that.”
