حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُضَرِّبٍ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ لِابْنِ النَّوَّاحَةِ
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَوْلَا أَنَّكَ رَسُولٌ لَقَتَلْتُكَ» فَأَمَّا الْيَوْمَ فَلَسْتَ بِرَسُولٍ يَا حَرَشَةُ قُمْ فَاضْرِبْ عُنُقَهُ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ فَضَرَبَ عُنُقَهُ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "If it were not for the fact that you are a messenger, I would have killed you." As for today, O Harashah, you are not a messenger. Stand up and strike his neck. So he got up and struck his neck.
