حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللهِ لَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفِتْنَةِ فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا يَشْتَمِلُ عَلَى فِتْنَةٍ وَلَكِنْ مَنِ اسْتَعَاذَ فَلْيَسْتَعِذْ مِنْ مُعْضِلَاتِهَا فَإِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَقُولُ {إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ}

✧ ʿAbd Allah: Let none of you say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge with You from tribulation,' for there is none among you who is not surrounded by tribulation. But whoever seeks refuge, let him seek refuge from its difficult entanglements. For Allah, may He be exalted, says: 'Your wealth and your children are but a trial' [Q 64:15].
