حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ قَالَ
عَبْدُ اللهِ «إِذَا حَضَرَكَ أَمْرٌ لَا بُدَّ مِنْهُ فَانْظُرْ مَا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ فَاقْضِ بِهِ فَإِنْ عَيِيتَ فَمَا قَضَى بِهِ الرَّسُولُ ﷺ فَإِنْ عَيِيتَ فَمَا قَضَى بِهِ الصَّالِحُونَ فَإِنْ عَيِيتَ فَاؤُمَّ وَلَا تَأْلُ فَإِنْ عَيِيتَ فَأَقِرَّ وَلَا تَسْتَحِ»

✧ Abd Allah [said]: "If a matter confronts you that is unavoidable, look at what is in the Book of Allah and judge by it. If you are unable, then by what the Messenger ﷺ judged. If you are unable, then by what the righteous judged. If you are unable, then head toward it and do not be remiss. If you are unable, then acknowledge and do not be ashamed."
