حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي آلُ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ أَوْصَى ابْنَهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ فَقَالَ «أُوصِيكَ بِاتِّقَاءِ اللهِ وَلْيَسَعْكَ بَيْتُكَ وَابْكِ عَلَى خَطِيئَتِكَ وَأَمْلِكْ عَلَيْكَ لِسَانَكَ»

✧ ʿAbd Allah counseled his son ʿAbd al-Rahman, saying: “I counsel you to be mindful of Allah, let your house suffice you, weep over your sin, and control your tongue.”
