حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا أَبُو الْعُمَيْسِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ

عَبْدُ اللهِ «مَنْ قَرَأَ عَشْرَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ فِي بَيْتٍ لَمْ يَدْخُلْ ذَلِكَ الْبَيْتَ شَيْطَانٌ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةِ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ أَرْبَعَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِهَا وَآيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ وَآيَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا وَخَوَاتِيمُهَا»

Translation

✧ ʿAbd Allah said: 'Whoever recites ten verses from Surah al-Baqarah in a house, no devil will enter that house that night until morning: four verses from its beginning, the Verse of the Throne, two verses after it, and its closing verses.'
