حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

مَاتَ رَجُلٌ فَجَاءَتْهُ مَلَائِكَةُ الْعَذَابِ فَجَلَسُوا عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ فَقَالَ لَا سَبِيلَ لَكُمْ إِلَيْهِ قَدْ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْمُلْكِ فَجَلَسُوا عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَا سَبِيلَ لَكُمْ إِلَيْهِ قَدْ كَانَ يَقُومُ عَلَيْنَا بِسُورَةِ الْمُلْكِ فَجَلَسُوا عِنْدَ بَطْنِهِ فَقَالَ لَا سَبِيلَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ قَدْ وَعَى فِيَّ سُورَةَ الْمُلْكِ فَسُمِّيَتِ الْمَانِعَةَ

✧ A man died, so the angels of punishment came to him and sat by his head. They said, "You have no way to escape from us. He used to recite Surah Al-Mulk." Then they sat by his feet and said the same. Finally, they sat by his abdomen and said, "You have no way to escape from us. Indeed, he has passed away while Surah Al-Mulk was with him." Thus, he was given the name "Al-Mani'ah" (the Preventer).
