حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

«إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ تَقَعُ فِي يَدِ اللهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقَعَ فِي يَدِ السَّائِلِ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَبْدُ اللهِ {وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ} الْآيَةُ

✧ "Indeed charity falls into the hand of Allah before it falls into the hand of the beggar." Then ʿAbd Allah recited: {And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants} until the end of the verse.
