✧ ʿUmar wrote to the people of Kufa: “I have sent ʿAmmar as commander and ʿAbdullah b. Masʿud as teacher and minister. They are among the noble ones of the Companions of Muhammad ﷺ, from the people of Badr and Uhud. Follow them and listen to their words. I have preferred you over myself by sending ʿAbdullah to you.”
