حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَذُوعِيُّ الْقَاضِي ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عِيسَى الْخَزَّازُ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ مَوْلًى لِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ سَأَلَهُ

أَنْ يُعْطِيَهُ مَالًا يَتَّجِرُ فِيهِ وَالرِّبْحُ بَيْنَهُمَا فَأَعْطَاهُ عِشْرِينَ أَلْفَ دِرْهَمٍ فَاشْتَرَى بِهِ خَمْرًا ثُمَّ قَدِمَ بِهِ الْأُبُلَّةَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ عُثْمَانُ فَلَمْ يَدَعْ مِنْهَا دَنًّا وَلَا غَيْرَهُ إِلَّا كَسَرَهُ قَالَ عُثْمَانُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَنَ الْخَمْرَ وَشَارِبَهَا وَمُشْتَرِيَهَا وَبَائِعَهَا وَعَاصِرَهَا وَحَامِلَهَا»

✧ That he gave him wealth to trade with, the profit to be shared between them. He gave him twenty thousand dirhams, and with it he bought wine. Then he brought it to al-Ubulla, and ʿUthman went out to him and did not leave a single jar or anything else but smashed it. ʿUthman said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ “cursed wine, its drinker, its buyer, its seller, its presser, and its carrier.”
