حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبِي ثنا زُهَيْرٌ ثنا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ

جِيءَ بِأَبِي قُحَافَةَ أَوْ جَاءَ عَامُ الْفَتْحِ وَرَأْسُهُ وَلِحْيَتُهُ مِثْلَ الثَّغَامِ أَوِ الثَّغَامَةِ فَأُمِرَ بِهِ إِلَى نِسَائِهِ فَقَالَ «غَيِّرُوا بِشَيْءٍ»

Translation

✧ Abu Quhafa was brought, or he came, in the year of the conquest, his head and beard like thagham or thaghama. He was ordered to his women, and they said, "Change it with something."
