حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ السَّيْلَحِينِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ طَلْقٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُؤَسِّسُ مَسْجِدَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَجَعَلْتُ أَحْمِلُ الْحِجَارَةَ كَمَا يَحْمِلُونَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْيَمَامَةِ أَحْذَقُ شَيْءٍ بِإِخْلَاطِ الطِّينِ فَاخْلِطْ لَنَا الطِّينَ» فَكُنْتُ أَخْلِطُ لَهُمِ الطِّينَ وَيَحْمِلُونَهُ

Translation

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was laying the foundations of the mosque of Madinah. I began carrying stones as they were carrying. The Prophet ﷺ said, “You people of al-Yamamah are the most skilled at mixing clay, so mix the clay for us.” I mixed the clay for them, and they carried it.
