حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى زَحْمَوَيْهِ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتْ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ قُتِلَ زَوْجُهَا فَسَأَلَتْهُ أَنْ يُوَرِّثَهَا مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجِهَا فَقَالَ

مَا أَعْلَمُ لَكِ شَيْئًا ثُمَّ نَشَدَ النَّاسَ مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلْيَقُمْ فَقَامَ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الْكِلَابِيُّ فَقَالَ «كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أُوَرِّثَ امْرَأَةَ أَشْيَمٍ الضِّبَابِيِّ مِنْ دِيَةِ زَوْجِهَا» فَوَرَّثَهَا عُمَرُ ؓ

✧ I do not know anything for you, then we call upon the people that anyone who has knowledge from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, let him stand up. Then Dhahhak bin Sufyan al-Kilabi stood up and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wrote to me that I should inherit the wife of Ashyam al-Dibabi from the blood money of her husband." So Umar inherited her.
