حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ ثنا أَبِي ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سَابِطٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَتَانِي رَبِّي فِي أَحْسَنَ صُورَةٍ فَقَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ قَالَ فِيمَ يَخْتَصِمُ الْمَلَأُ الْأَعْلَى؟ قُلْتُ لَا أَدْرِي فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى ثَدْيَيَّ فَعَلِمْتُ فِي مَقَامِي ذَلِكَ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ فَقَالَ فِيمَ يَخْتَصِمُ الْمَلَأُ الْأَعْلَى؟ قُلْتُ فِي الدَّرَجَاتِ وَالْكَفَّارَاتِ فَأَمَّا الدَّرَجَاتُ فَإِبْلَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ فِي السَّبَرَاتِ وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَوَاتِ قَالَ صَدَقْتَ مَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ عَاشَ بِخَيْرٍ وَمَاتَ بِخَيْرٍ وَكَانَ مِنْ خَطِيئَتِهِ كَمَا وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّهُ وَأَمَّا الْكَفَّارَاتُ فَإِطْعَامُ الطَّعَامِ وَإِفْشَاءُ السَّلَامِ وَطِيبُ الْكَلَامِ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عَمَلَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَتَرْكَ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَحُبَّ الْمَسَاكِينِ وَمَغْفِرَةً وَأَنْ تَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ وَإِذَا أَرَدْتَ فِي قَوْمٍ فِتْنَةً فَنَجِّنِي غَيْرَ مَفْتُونٍ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “My Lord came to me in the most beautiful form and said: ‘O Muhammad.’ I said: ‘At Your service, gladly.’ He said: ‘About what does the highest assembly dispute?’ I said: ‘I do not know.’ So He placed His hand between my chest and I came to know in that moment all that He asked me about concerning the affairs of this world and the Hereafter. He said: ‘About what does the highest assembly dispute?’ I said: ‘About degrees and expiations. As for degrees, they are performing ablution thoroughly in severe cold, and waiting for the next prayer after the previous one.’ He said: ‘You have spoken truth. Whoever does that lives in good and dies in good, and his sins are removed as on the day his mother gave birth to him. As for expiations, they are feeding others, spreading peace, kind speech, and praying while people sleep.’ Then he said: ‘O Allah, I ask You for good deeds, abandonment of evil deeds, love for the poor, forgiveness, and that You accept my repentance. If You intend a trial for a people, deliver me from it without being afflicted.’”
