حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ الْعَامِرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي صَدَقَةُ بْنُ هُرْمُزَ الْقَسْمَلِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ
بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى قَوْمِي فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَأَنَا طَاوٍ فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَهُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ دَمًا فَقُلْتُ إِنَّمَا جِئْتُ أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ هَذَا فَوَضَعْتُ رَأْسِي فَقُمْتُ وَأَنَا مَغْلُوبٌ فَأَتَانِي آتٍ فِي مَنَامِي بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ شَرَابٌ فَقَالَ خُذْ هَذَا وَاشْرَبْ ثُمَّ كَظَّنِي بَطْنِي فَشَبِعْتُ ثُمَّ رَوَيْتُ فَسَمِعْتُهُمْ يَقُولُونَ أَتَاكُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ سَرَاةِ قَوْمِكُمْ قَلَّمَ تَنْجِعُوهُ بِالْمَذِيقَةِ فَأَتَوْنِي بِمَذِيقَتِهِمْ فَقُلْتُ لَا حَاجَةَ لِي فِيهَا إِنَّ اللهَ أَطْعَمَنِي وَسَقَانِي فَأَرَيْتُهُمْ بَطْنِي فَأَسْلَمُوا عَنْ آخِرِهِمْ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to my people. I reached them while I was hungry, and found them eating blood. I said, "I have only come to forbid you from this." Then I laid my head down and got up overcome. Then someone came to me in my sleep with a vessel containing a drink and said, "Take this and drink." Then he filled my stomach, and I was satiated and quenched. I then heard them saying, "A man from the nobles of your people has come to you; you will not succeed with him by offering the thin milk." So they brought me their thin milk, and I said, "I have no need of it. Allah has fed me and given me drink." I showed them my stomach, and they all embraced Islam to the last one.
